Content Creation seems like an easy enough concept on the surface. But, if you’ve ever managed a network of websites, you already know how easy it is for things to go off the rails.
Sourcing high-quality content is a challenge in itself. Once you factor in having to manage writers, edit their work, and ensure it’s in line with the goals for your site, managing your content creators becomes a full-time job.
Aside from being a site owner myself, I’m also a dog dad to multiple pups, so I’m already being pulled in hundreds of directions at once, and that’s before I switch on my laptop.
Would you have the time or bandwidth to put on yet another hat?
I’ve combined my passion with my work by creating a website to help other dog owners with anything they may need. But in doing so, I found that I was able to spend less and less time with my own pups. Luckily, I found the ideal solution.
Today, we’re going to discuss the challenges of creating great content for your websites, and I’ll share with you why I now exclusively use WordAgents to create the content for my websites.
The Challenges of Content Creation
Building out high-quality content is a monstrous undertaking for any business, whether you’re a one-person show or a Fortune 50 company. Every business is different, but most of us face the same challenges when it comes to content creation.
Research
The research tool market has been booming over the last decade or so, and it’s easier than ever for site owners to find a niche, identify content ideas, and flesh out what you’ll need to create excellent content that’s going to rank.
These tools do a lot of the heavy lifting for you, but you’ll still need to set aside a significant amount of time to do the research you’ll need to produce useful and high-quality content.
Creating Content
Once you’ve put in the research legwork and you’re ready to create some winning content that’s sure to convert for your website, you’re faced with another dilemma. Are you prepared to dedicate the time and energy necessary to write the content yourself? Are you confident that the content you create will be effective?
If you feel confident in your content creation abilities, then there’s the actual work of crafting excellent content for your site. Do I have the right tone? Am I delivering value to my audience? Is my writing clear and engaging?
These are all difficult questions to answer. Some site owners have no trouble creating incredible content for their sites. Unfortunately for me, I’m not one of them. For my content creation needs, I’ve always had to work with freelancers.
Working With Freelancers
Freelancers will certainly free you up from the writing portion of content creation, but it comes with its own administrative challenges. When you work with freelancers, you take on the role of editor in addition to all the other hats you’re wearing.
You’ll need to go over the writing to ensure the information is accurate, engaging, original, and easy to understand. You’ll also need to make sure the writer met all objectives, and return it for revisions if necessary.
That’s all easy enough if you’re able to work with talented freelancers, but finding them is sometimes easier said than done. Finding talented freelancers is often one of the most difficult aspects of outsourcing content creation, and when your freelancers aren’t up to snuff, it generates more management and administrative work for you, the site owner.
Optimizing Content
Once you’ve fleshed out your content, either by yourself or with help from freelancers, you’ll also need to optimize it to ensure that it reads beautifully on your site, and ranks well in search.
In many ways, this part of the process is more important than the content itself; even the most useful and actionable content is worthless if your audience isn’t able to find the content and take action on it.
Properly optimizing content for SEO is a full-time job in itself, and not every site owner has a decorated background in organic search. If you optimize the content yourself and do a poor job, it’s never going to rank. Meanwhile, if you work with an SEO agency, that’s yet another cost you’ll need to contend with.
Why I Moved My Entire Content Operation to WordAgents
As my network grew, so did my content needs. I found myself managing over 50 freelancers at a time, all working concurrently. Some of my most important tasks were getting put to the side so I could make time to manage freelancers. It was much more than I bargained for, and it was putting a significant strain on my business.
Keeping track of submissions, checking them for originality and accuracy, and ensuring that they followed the structure and outline I requested were the first parts of the puzzle. From there, I’d need to check everything to ensure it meets our SEO needs.
Keep in mind, I was doing all this work on my own, without any infrastructure in place to streamline the process and ensure nothing was falling by the wayside.
Remember my dogs I mentioned earlier? There are sixteen of them – I told you I was passionate! That means my days are spent grooming them (though I do rely on only the most effective methods, along with gems like Andis dog clippers), bathing them, and preparing their food. And if you don’t think I combine their kibble with home-cooked meals, you’re sorely mistaken.
I had no time to actually manage my business because I was being stretched so thin by the content creation side of things. I recognized I needed an alternative, and that’s when I discovered WordAgents.
Why WordAgents Works For Me
From managing submissions to providing the highest quality SEO content, WordAgents manages to do it all for me. Here’s why.
Original Content from American Writers
One of my biggest challenges when working with freelancers was vetting them to find quality writers. Roughly half of the freelancers I worked with provided content that either lacked a firm grasp of English, or plagiarized content from other sources online.
With WordAgents, I know before I submit my order that the work will be completed by a talented writer who produces high-quality, original content in perfect English.
SEO Optimization
For affiliate marketers, creating content that’s going to put your website in front of the right audience is incredibly difficult, and it requires tons of high-quality content that’s optimized for search.
WordAgents provides content for SEO that’s perfectly keyword-optimized when it returns to my inbox. There’s nothing for me to worry about, and I don’t have to do any additional optimization work. Whether it’s reviews, link bait, guest posts, or anything in between, they produce content I can rely on.
Content at Scale
When I first started, I was working with a handful of freelancers at a time, and the process was easy to manage. By the time I discovered WordAgents, my content needs had grown significantly, but my processes didn’t grow with them.
With WordAgents, I’m able to scale my content needs up or down depending on my goals each month. Best of all, the more words I need, the cheaper they become. WordAgents offers a discount of over 50% for orders over 20,000 words each month.
A Fully Managed Solution
Before I discovered WordAgents, the hardest part of content creation for me was managing writers. At any given time, I had dozens of different assignments out with various freelancers. Keeping track of all the work was beyond stressful.
With WordAgents, I don’t have to worry about managing anything on the content side. Their team leaders assign my work, track its progress, ensure it’s up to standard, and deliver it back to me, all within seven days. If anything requires an edit, their team is quick to turn them around so my content is ready to go live.
Final Word
For so many businesses, effective content creation is the key to success. But, creating content can be a daunting task, and it can begin to sap the fun from what you’re doing. None of us went into business to chase freelancers or proofread articles all day. Thankfully, there’s a better way.
If you find yourself getting bogged down in the minutia of content creation, it might be time to check out WordAgents. Especially for any dog owner who is planning on, or who already has embarked on a doggie website, you should follow my lead. For my business, it was one of the best choices I’ve ever made.
