As previously mentioned, newborn puppies can really easily pick up illnesses so if you are walking the mother dog in a dirty area, it can be very easy for them to pick up something and pass it on to their puppies. Keep an eye on this and only walk your dog in clean areas.

This is really important. As previously mentioned, dogs take their own time when recovering from birth and you should never try to force a dog to go for a walk if they’re not ready. They will go in their own time, you just have to be patient.

When your dog has just given birth, she will be spending a lot of time feeding her pups. Only when the puppies don’t have to rely on their mum as much for food is it okay for you to take your dog out on longer walks so she doesn’t have to worry about feeding them.
